Jeff Burrow receives Jill Matus Excellence in Student Services Award
For his work leveraging data to improve the student experience – and empowering his colleagues to do the same – Jeff Burrow has received the Jill Matus Excellence in Student Services Award.
The honour is one of the Awards of Excellence presented by the University of Toronto Alumni Association in collaboration with the university. The prestigious program dates back to 1921 and recognizes outstanding faculty, staff and students.
The manager of assessment and analysis for the division of student life, Burrow holds a PhD from OISE. He supports the development, implementation, marketing and analysis of five major ongoing surveys of the University’s 90,000 undergraduates, helps gather data from more than 10 departments and dozens of programs, and works with colleagues across the university, most recently with the Presidential & Provostial Task Force on Student Mental Health.
In awarding the honour to Burrow, the alumni association noted that his “Who are our Students” presentation, which analyzes data in an engaging way and highlights points of action, has created a campus-wide conversation helping everyone from senior leadership to front-line staff and student leaders.
