Stavroula Andreopoulos named 3M National Teaching Fellow

Stavroula Andreopoulos, a professor, teaching stream in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine's department of biochemistry, has been named a 2025 3M National Teaching Fellow.
The 3M National Teaching Fellowship, which is offered by the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE), recognizes excellence in educational leadership and teaching at the post-secondary level.
Andreopoulos is recognized for her use of active learning and accessible technology to engage learners. She led the creation, development and implementation of foundational biochemistry courses and initiated innovative interdisciplinary programs with physics and statistics for aspiring medical and dental students. As well, she was the catalyst behind a series of interactive online modules to improve scientific literacy for students whose first language is not English.
The STLHE quotes a former student about Andreopoulos and her teaching: “Through hard work, dedication, and complete selflessness, Dr. Andreopoulos continues to be an inspiring embodiment of a world-class educator.”
