Daniel Drucker recognized with Endocrine Society's lifetime achievement award

Daniel Drucker, a senior investigator at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Sinai Health and a University Professor of medicine in the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine, has been recognized with the Endocrine Society's Fred Conrad Koch Lifetime Achievement Award

The highest honour bestowed by the Endocrine Society, the award recognizes lifetime achievements and exceptional contributions to the field of endocrinology.

Drucker was recognized for his pivotal role in the development and advancement of novel treatments for diabetes and weight loss, with his discoveries about gut hormones leading to the development of a new class of highly effective drugs to treat type 2 diabetes, obesity and intestinal disorders.

He has also served the Endocrine Society in a number of capacities, including as an editorial board member for the Journal of the Endocrine Society, editor-in-chief of Endocrine Reviews and member of the society's nominating committee.
