Do you have questions about accessing resources and services related to family care and work-life balance? The Family Care Office (FCO) has answers.

The office runs workshops across the university's three campuses, and welcomes those looking for advice or resources on the family care options available to them. Kaye Francis, manager of the FCO and Faculty Relocation Service, shares five resources that you might not know about but should.

1. Are you caring for an aging relative and need some information on community resources and caregiving?  Attend a workshop like Building Caregiver Resilience at the downtown Toronto campus.

2. Trying to understand just how much time you can take off as a new parent, and whether you can share your parental leave with your partner?  We have workshops that can assist you with these questions and more.

3. Looking for someone to babysit your child, but not sure where to start? Use our Babysitter Listing to find a U of T student who can provide occasional babysitting.

4. Not sure how to speak to your child as they move into adolescence?  Borrow a parenting book from our library like How to Talk So Teens Will Listen and Listen So Teens Will Talk.

5. Do you have a loved one who is seriously ill and want information on how you might take some time off work for caregiving?  Come and speak to a Family Care Advisor on family caregiver leaves.

Reach the Family Care Office by phone at 416.978.0951 or reach the office by email at family.care@utoronto.ca.
