Convocation 2015: social media highlights, week two

A somersaulting student, selfies with the president, honorary degree recipients who included one of Canada's top athletes, Chantal Petitclerc and a whole lot of hugging, dancing and jumping for joy.

Those were just some of the highlights of week two of convocation at the University of Toronto.

An estimated 13,000 U of T students will cross the stage in Convocation Hall during three weeks of ceremonies – and 45,000 of their friends and family members will cheer them on. Can't be there in person? Our newest alumni are also sharing their convocation memories on social media with the hashtag #UofTGrad15.

If you are walking by Convocation Plaza – the big white marquee on King’s College Circle – come in for a few minutes to watch the social media streams that are projected on the screens. If you prefer following the conversation from your phone or computer, you can view the posts on Instagram or check out what's happening on Twitter.

Below, U of T’s marketing and online communications coordinator, Sarah Khan, looks back at her favourite social media moments from the second week. Scroll down to see more exciting memories from U of T’s newest alumni and then check out the social media highlights from week one.
