Six faculty members recognized with Cheryl Regehr Early Career Teaching Awards

Six University of Toronto faculty members have been recognized with 2025-26 Cheryl Regehr Early Career Teaching Awards.
The annual awards are given to faculty members who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to student learning, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation.
They are named for Cheryl Regehr, a professor in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and champion of teaching excellence and innovation who served as U of T’s vice-president and provost for a decade.
The award recipients are:
- Gwendolyn Eadie – assistant professor in the David A. Dunlap department of astronomy and astrophysics and the department of statistical sciences in the Faculty of Arts & Science
- Certina Ho – assistant professor, teaching stream in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and the department of psychiatry in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
- Michael Liut – assistant professor, teaching stream in the department of mathematical and computational sciences at U of T Mississauga
- Daniel Aureliano Newman – assistant professor, teaching stream in the department of English in the Faculty of Arts & Science
- Zahra Shakeri – assistant professor in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health
- Naomi Steenhof – assistant professor, teaching stream in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy
