DENTAL COVERAGE
Dental Plan Benefits (Part-time and Full-time Graduate Students)
As of September 1st, 2007
Members can see the dentist of their choice, and there are specific dentists who provide 20-30% discount (see below). You may opt-out, purchase family coverage, or a 12-month extension.

Dental Discount Network
In an effort to help students have a greater portion of their dental claims covered by Green Shield, a Network of dentists who are willing to charge lower fees for students has been created. Students are not required to use a Network dentist, but doing so can save you more money.
The Dental discount works according to the following chart.

Without the discount, you would pay $30.00
You are also eligible for a discount on services not covered by your student plan, such as 20% off of major restorative services (crowns, bridges, posts, etc.).
To Receive Your Dental Discount
Choose a dentist from the list available here (PDF) *Please note that this is a different link than the previous one which students were having difficulty opening.
Prior to having your dental work done inform your dentist that you have a dental plan with Green Shield and wish to receive a student discount. Request a Green Shield Predetermination in the event that your dentist estimates a claim exceeding $300.00. The dentist will submit the claim on your behalf.
