PhD Candidate - Collaborative Program in Geology & Physics

treasurer.gsu@utoronto.ca

PERSONAL STATEMENT

My most heartfelt thanks are extended to all the graduates who showed their support for me as Treasurer. In this position, fiscal responsibility and accountability are essential. My responsibility to you includes proper allocation of university funds to projects and activities that directly effect and enhance the graduate student experience. My accountability to you means full transparency in
decisions and policies of fund allocation. Additionally, I will represent the interests of graduate students on the Council of Student Services (COSS), Council on Athletics & Recreation (CAR), and the Hart House Board of Stewards.

My personal mandate is to implement positive change at our university by (1) lobbying the administration to lower tuition fees; (2) monitoring private/commercial funding to the university and the impact this has on graduate students, and (3) ensuring that the interests of graduate students are protected and strengthened during potentially difficult student-supervisor relationships. My
goal is to represent your best interests and ensure that your voices are heard during these difficult situations.

I welcome any input or ideas on any issue that is pertinent to the student body. Please do not hesitate to contact me and always remember that I, and the other GSU Executive Officers, are here to advocate for you.
