- Download and install the ROSI terminal emulation program
(Hummingbird Host Explorer) as usual.
- Install the SSH Client
- Run SSH and test to see if your SSH installation is working
- Have SSH connect using the following:
- Host Name: splash.utcs.utoronto.ca
- User Name: your securid username (note: this is your Admin Systems
username, not your ROSI username at this stage of the login!)
- Password: a passcode generated using your SecurID card and PIN
Your first connection should result in the following dialog appearing:
Select Accept and Save

- Configure SSH to do port forwarding for ROSI
When you see the following dialog, select Properties

In the Connection tab of the Properties dialog box make sure the Host name and User Name
fields are filled in correctly.

Switch to the Forward tab in the Properties dialog

Select New to create a new forwarding

Fill in the properties as follows:
NOTE: The Application Start field contains the following:
"C:\Program Files\HostExplorer.95\Tn3270.exe" -p"C:\Program Files\HostExplorer.95\user\HostEx\Profile\ROSISSH.HEP"
If you have installed the Host Explorer using other than the default location
or you are using the NT version of Host Explorer you
will need to modify the path.
When you click OK the Forward properties will look like:

Click OK on the Properties dialog and then form the File menu select Save As and save the properties as rosissh (.ssh).
- Run SSH to connect to ROSI
When you run SSH you will see the following dialog:

Generate a passcode using your SecurID card and PIN and key it into
the password field and hit enter. You should get authorized by SecurID and then the Host Explorer should launch and you should see the ROSI login screen.
If you see:

it means that you provided an invalid Securid Passcode. Try Again.
