Using SSH to access U of T Systems
SSH (Secure SHell) allows you to access various U of T administrative computer systems from across the U of T backbone network and also from external networks that communicate with U of T through the Internet.

In addition to providing access, the transmission of information using SSH is done in an encrypted fashion. This provides enhanced security for sensitive data when there are concerns that unauthorized persons might be able to monitor your network activity.
