NW-Admins Support

Introduction

The NW-Admins is a special interest group comprised of IT support staff who work with PC and Macintosh based technology. The technical concerns of the group include:

  • Server technology (NetWare, Windows, Linux )
  • Workstation technology (Windows, Macintosh, Linux)
  • Printing
  • Security


  • NW-Admins also discusses and makes recommendations on University information technology plans and policies. A representative from the NW-Admins is on the Academic Computing Advisor Committee. The work of the NW-Admins takes place at regular meetings (typically 9 times a year) and through a private mailing list.

    WTS Support

    WTS is responsible for facilitating the work of the NW-Admins. These activities include:

  • Convene and Chair the meetings
  • Operate the mailing list
  • Co-ordinate presentations from university staff and vendors
  • Review and report on new technology
  • Consult with members of the NW-Admins group
