The RAIN-Atlantis project
The Rain-Atlantis project is a study of Utopian Culture, the literature, art and science (science fiction as well) that flourished in Utopian circles. The history of Peaceful Societies, drawing on the study of ancient and contemporary cultures and peoples, serves as our environment to learn math, architecture, science, human culture and sustainable agriculture. This is an interesting site (with a bunch of links).

Utopian Thought and Philosophy Links

Utopian Philosophy
Maintained by Jon Will, a University of Delaware faculty member who has written several books on Utopianism as humanity's guiding philosophy. This web site consists of a modern day trilogy on the possibility of Humanity reaching Utopia, and is an attempt to help popularize Utopia as a philosophy. A philosophy of striving for the best life attainable should be a part of human culture. This basic philosophy can be one global element of common sense and common purpose in an otherwise complex and fragmented world. Utopian philosophy can be the goal that unites the world for good and noble actions.

"The Ultimate Philosophy"
This web site consists of a free online trilogy titled "The Ultimate Philosophy" which explores the possibility of humanity's achievement of Utopia. Author is "Jon Will", copyrighted 1996.

UTOPIA: A Scientific Approach by Christopher C. Humphrey, Ph.D
An on-line book that discusses the practicality of actually establishing a Utopian society. It is easy to invent utopias. What is hard is to prove that they would really work. What I have invented is a scientific approach to utopia. In this book, I shall not only solve the major social problems of our time, such as war, murder, homelessness, ennui, poverty, and the destruction of the ecology; I shall base these solutions on well-established social ideals. I have created a new science, which I call "utopian analysis." This is the first application of scientific method to matters of value, rather than matters of fact.

B.F. Skinner
This is a student-developed web site devoted to the professional works of B.F. Skinner, a comparative psychologist who believed that his theories (dealing with behavior control through technology) could be used to form a more perfect society. Not really useful for learning about Utopianism as a genre; this site's narrow focus upon Skinner's work provides some interesting and unusual ideas, but is very specific to Skinner's works.

Communal Studies Association
Founded in 1975 as the National Historic Communal Societies Association, the CSA has expanded its focus in recent years to include the study of contemporary and international communal societies.
