Who Needs it?

New and Returning Students

New undergraduate and graduate students are issued a TCard. Returning students do not require a new card. Your TCard serves as the official card on campus for your entire University career.

In order for the Card office to issue you a TCard you will require the following:

To establish yourself as a U of T student one of:

· A University of Toronto offer of admission (stating your student number) for the current or upcoming session

To establish your identity one of :

· A passport

· A Provincial Drivers License

· A Provincial Health Card with your photograph

· A Citizenship card

· Proof of age card (B.Y.I.D.)

· A Photo ID card from another University

· A current High School Photo ID card (High School entrants only)

If you do not have any of the preceding photo identification you will need two of the following Non-Photo Identification Cards:

· A Birth Certificate

· A Social Insurance or Social Security Card

· A Valid Credit card with your name and signature on the card

· A Provincial Health Card without your photograph

Photocopies, digital images or temporary identification are not acceptable.

If you have no personal identification you will need:

· A completed Passport Application

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and Staff are issued a TCard , which serves as the official identification card on the campus.

In order for the Card office to issue you a TCard you will require the following:

To establish yourself as a U of T employee :

If you are paid directly from U of T you will require the "Getting on-line at U of T" document issued by your Divisional Business Officer.

If you are paid by a division that is independent from U of T , for example a federated college (Trinity, St Michael's, Victoria) or a service provider (Faculty Club, U of T Press) you will require an authorization letter from a UofT authority (i.e. a Department head or unit Business officer) which states the:

Name of Employee
Services required
Duration of stay
Reference Departmental Contact

To establish your identity one of :

· A passport

· A Provincial Drivers License

· A Provincial Health Card with your photograph

· A Citizenship card

TCards are issued at the TCard Office on the St. George Campus, which is located in Room 2054A, Robarts Library, 130 St. George St., the Registrar's Office at U of T at Scarborough, and the Registrar's Office at U of T at Mississauga.
