Where Should I Begin:
Core Course Requirement
The required course for the program is SMC210Y, The Mediaeval Tradition, which offers an introductory overview of all facets of the program. Specialists, majors, and minors are all required
to take this core course. Students in the specialist option should take an introductory course in Latin.
Specialist:
(12 full courses or their equivalent: at least four 300+ series courses including one 400-series course; students interested in pursuing graduate work in Mediaeval Studies are encouraged to choose courses which will contribute to a strong foundation in a specific discipline.)
- SMC 210Y1
- Two courses or equivalent from the Foundational Courses (excluding SMC 222H1, 323H1)
- Two courses or equivalent in Latin
- SMC 490Y1 Senior Essay in Mediaeval Studies
- Six courses or equivalent from the Approved Courses and Foundational Courses
Major:
(7 full courses or their equivalent, including at least two 300+ series courses)
