The Hon. James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

A long tradition of vice-regal support for community groups in Ontario began in 1888, when the Ontario Historical Society became the first organization to be granted patronage by the Lieutenant Governor.

The Hon. James Bartleman is continuing this tradition by lending his support and encouragement to a wide range of organizations by becoming their honorary patron. This broadly based patronage reflects his wish to celebrate the contributions of all Ontarians.

As Lieutenant Governor, Mr Bartleman also wishes to support particular causes by granting patronage to organizations that promote mental health and offer support to youth, particularly Aboriginal youth.

The Lieutenant Governor is honorary patron of the Munk Centre for International Studies at the University of Toronto among many others.
