Dr. Kate Gillespie
Clinical Director & Cognitive Therapist,
Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma & Transformation

Dr Gillespie is a Consultant Psychiatrist/Cognitive Therapist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She has worked full time in Cognitive Therapy for the last twelve years, five of which have been exclusively in the field of trauma. She led the cognitive therapy response to the Omagh Bomb and treated many of those traumatised by the tragedy.

In 1999 she completed the Beck Institute Extra mural programme in Cognitive Therapy and is a founding member of the Academy at the Institute. She is currently Clinical Director with the Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma and Transformation and in this role directs the treatment program for people affected by civil violence and in the Centre’s research and training programmes.
