Dr. Paula Goering

Dr. Paula Goering is an experienced clinician, consultant, educator and researcher. She has a Masters degree in psychiatric nursing from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Medical Science from the University of Toronto. She is Director of the Health Systems Research and Consulting Unit at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry with cross appointments to the Faculty of Nursing, Institute of Medical Science and Department Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. She oversees the work of a group of interdisciplinary investigators who study mental health and addictions service delivery and provide consultation services to agencies and government. As a CHSRF/CIHR Health Services Chair, she and her research unit have been provided with resources to train researchers and work with government decision-makers to increase capacity for the generation and use of applied mental health and addiction research across Canada. She has led the team of investigators who have designed and implemented the Community Mental Health Evaluation Initiative.
