Summary of Activities

• Five Coordinating and one joint meeting with the Advisory Committee to date.
• We have a home meeting place at a Health Unit where all CC members have past professional links so the mood is set for our lively monthly meetings.
• Meetings are chaired on a rotating schedule to keep us all involved and active.
• 'Homework' is assigned to facilitate progress of the Project.
• Many of the CC members have been involved in previous projects looking at senior's issues. Several of those studies have been revisited to augment current information regarding methods and procedures for upcoming Focus Groups.
• It has been our concern that all seniors of the Greater Vancouver area be represented and we are determined that this be accomplished.
• To date we have tentatively planned our 7 Focus Groups to include: Indo-Canadian, Chinese, First Nations, Vietnamese, Frail Seniors, Eastside and Westside Groups.
• A schedule for the Focus Group meetings has been posted and the coordinating committee members will each volunteer to attend one or more to assist and observe. The project coordinator and a student from The Institute of Health Promotion Research at UBC will conduct each Focus Group
• Discussion and revision of the Ethical Approval form and Focus Group Questions were the topics of the last meeting.
