Biographical Sketch
Dr. Ryan completed her medical degree at University College Cork, Ireland in 1993 (MB BCh BAO). Subsequently she specialized in Internal Medicine (MRCPI, 1996) and Respirology in Ireland attaining European accreditation as a specialist in these areas (EU-CSCST -2003). During her training period in Ireland she also pursued research and obtained a Masters Degree in Medicine by thesis (M.D. 2005). Following completion of training in Ireland she did a fellowship in Sleep Medicine with the Division of Respirology of the University of Toronto (2003-2005). During this time as well as pursuing clinical training in sleep medicine she was involved extensively in research in the area of sleep medicine and cardiopulmonary disease with Dr. T. Douglas Bradley. In particular her area of interest is sleep medicine and cerebrovascular disease.
