Mechanisms in Neuropathic Pain: Insights From Animal and Human Research
A special symposium entitled “Mechanisms of Neuropathic Pain: Insights from Animal and Human Research” will be held on Wednesday May 22nd as a tribute to and to mark the retirement of Jonathan Dostrovsky. Jonathan’s 40-year academic career has been dedicated to the study of pain mechanisms in animal models and humans, and has included pioneering research and service to IASP and NeuP SIG. Accordingly, this Symposium focuses on recent advances in clarifying mechanisms of neuropathic pain and its management, as revealed through research studies in animal models and in humans. Symposium speakers planned include international experts Barry Sessle, Karen Davis, Kochi Iwata, Michael Salter, Andres Lozano, Anthony Dickensen and Ze’ev Seltzer. The Symposium will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the afternoon of May 22nd. Registration is free of charge but space is limited and so pre-registration is required at: http://www2.kenes.com/Neuropathic/registration/Pages/Registration.aspx
