Dr. Martine Puts is an assistant professor at Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing since July 2009. Prior to joining the faculty she did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Solidage Research Group on Frailty and Aging, Centre for Clinical Epidemiology and Community Studies, Jewish General Hospital/Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, McGill University. Before that, she did her PhD project on frailty, biological risk factors, negative consequences and quality of life with the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA), Vu University Medical Centre, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. During her studies and before starting her PhD she has worked as a RN at the Geriatric department, Kenmermer hospital, Haarlem, the Netherlands and in home health care in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her research interests include health, functioning and quality of life of older adults, frailty and geriatric assessment and improving care for older adults with cancer (geriatric oncology).

Current Grants: (1) A systematic review of factors influencing older adults' decision to accept or refuse cancer treatment proposed by their physician. CIHR. (2) A systematic review of the use of geriatric assessment for older adults with cancer in the oncology setting. CIHR.
