Leila Lax
BA, BSc, AAM, MEd, PhD
Dr. Leila Lax is an Assistant Professor in the Biomedical Communications masters program, in the Institute of Medical Science, at the University of Toronto. She teaches courses in biomedical visualization and conducts design research in elearning and online collaborative knowledge building. Leila has a masters and doctoral degree in Higher Education, specializing in Health Professions Education and Web-based learning from OISE/UT. She is a Senior Research Scientist with the Institute for Knowledge Innovation and Technology, at OISE/UT and a member of the Wilson Centre for Research in Education, of the University Health Network. Dr. Lax worked with Dr. Judy Watt-Watson and team to develop the UofT/UTCSP Interfaculty Pain Curriculum. One of her current research and development projects includes a CIHR/CAHR grant to develop a Web-based pain education interprofessional resource to be shared with universities across Canada. Other award winning projects include the Ministry of Health sponsored End-of-Life Care Distance Education program.
