David Berbrayer
MD, FRCPC
Dr. David Berbrayer is a Physiatrist from Toronto. He is Division Head of Rehabilitation Medicine of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Dr. Berbrayer is the Chair for Section of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Ontario Medical Association. Dr. Berbrayer is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and by the American Board of Medical specialties in Physiatry (Mayo Clinic examinations). Dr. Berbrayer completed the CMA program PMI 1-4 and PMI refresher. He has held other leadership positions as President of medical staff Hugh Macmillan Medical Centre- largest children pediatric rehab facility in Canada and Vice President, Chief of Staff Lyndhurst the Spinal Cord Centre. Dr. Berbrayer is founding member of the creation of the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. Dr. Berbrayer completed the Master Teacher Program University of Toronto 2004.Dr. Berbrayer completed the Physician Leadership Program in HPME Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation University of Toronto, Medicine, Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 2005. In 2008, Dr. Berbrayer completed the Harvard Macy Program in 2008. Dr. Berbrayer is presently the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Chair of the CAPMR (Canadian Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation), elected chair Pediatric Sig CAPMR and Vice Chair education CAPMR. Dr. Berbrayer is the only Canadian appointed to the Performance Metrics Committee 2012, one of the three sub‐committees of the AAPMR’s (American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) Evidence‐Based Practice (EBP) Committee. Feb 2012, Dr. Berbrayer was also appointed AAPMR Alternate Representative to the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI), part of AMA (American Medical Association)- only two MD’s appointed from AAPMR.
