Dr. Colin McCartney completed anaesthesia and pain management training in Scotland before completing a regional anaesthesia fellowship in Toronto in 2000. From 2000-2006 he was staff anaesthetist and director of the regional anaesthesia fellowship program at Toronto Western Hospital. In 2006 he moved to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre where he is currently director of anaesthesia research and Associate Professor, Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto. He has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals in relation to regional anaesthesia and pain management and is an Editor of the journal Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine and Associate Editor of the British Journal of Anaesthesia. He currently supervises graduate students at the Institute of Medical Science at University of Toronto.
