Before you start, please ensure your UTORid has been activated, and that you have your @utoronto.ca email address and UTORmail configuration number handy.
Blackberry Internet Services (BIS) setup is a two-step process: You first set up a BIS account, and then you set it up to handle your UTORmail email.
Added lines 27-31:
  • In the event of loss or theft of the BlackBerry, the only way to remove UTORmail access from the device is through your BIS account.
  • In the event that the device is replaced with another BlackBerry, you can push your UTORmail email settings to the new device using BIS.
  • You are be able to configure your account with more options; for example, email signatures can be set up through the portal.
Added lines 75-87:
  1. The next page asks for your Device PIN and Device ESN. These can be found on the outside of the box for your device, or found on the device itself, as follows:

On the device, go to Options > Status. The Status screen displays the device's PIN and two ESNs; you want the ESN (dec).

  1. On the Account Setup page, enter the PIN and ESN (dec) numbers into their respective fields. Click Continue.
  2. Enter a Password, and Confirm the password. We strongly discourage using your UTORmail/UTORid password.
  3. Choose the language you wish for the web pages (the default is English).
  4. Click Sign Up. Then click Next.

Your Blackberry BIS account is now set up. Continue to configure your Blackberry for UTORmail.
