McLaughlin-McEwen Pluripotent Stem Cell Core Training Facility

Welcome to the McLaughlin-McEwen Pluripotent Stem Cell Core Training Facility Website

The Objectives of our facility are to:

  • Establish a human embryonic stem cell bank of well-characterized hESCs
  • Make these cells available for distribution to researchers wishing to work with them
  • Provide assistance in the procedural aspects of obtaining permission to work with hESCs
  • Develop working protocols for the proper maintenance of these cells, including reagent screening and cell characterization
  • Provide training to researchers looking to learn or familiarize themselves with the intricacies of working with hESCs
  • Provide a centre for testing the appropriateness of media and/or other components for working with hESCs
