ANTI-SEMITISM: AN ENDURING REALITY

This conference will examine the nature of contemporary Antisemitism in historical perspective, assess its attributes and strength in the present, and explore the range of policy instruments that can be effective in reducing the politicization of prejudice.

The central questions of the conference are:

• What are the historical roots of present-day Antisemitism in Europe and North America?
  
• What are the scope and attributes of contemporary Antisemitism? Is there a "New Antisemitism"? How dangerous is this phenomenon?
  
• Does Antisemitism differ from other kinds of prejudice in the world today?
  
• What are the appropriate mixes of policy instruments - legal, regulatory, political, social, and educational - that can best respond to the problem of contemporary Antisemitism?
