Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Training

The MacLennan lab offers education and training in the areas of membrane protein biochemistry, including ion pumps and channels, and analysis of human genetic diseases.  The lab and Department are well funded and equipped.  Salary support for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is available, by competition, from:

and from operating grants awarded to Dr. MacLennan from the MRC, the HSFC, the MDAC and the CGDN. Membership in the CGDN permits access of lab members to Network core facilities (Transgenic and Knockout Animals; DNA Sequencing; Protein Chemistry, etc.), to technology available in other Network labs and to annual research, technology and strategy meetings that bring together Network investigators, including students, fellows, Network industrial partners and world leaders in the field, for three days of intense discussion of forefront research in human genetic diseases.

Students in the lab belong to the Graduate Department of either:

and must meet entrance requirements of either of these departments.
