Sarcoplasmic Reticulum Proteins in Cardiomyopathy

[Picture: Olga Bezborodova and Kazimierz Kurzydlowski sequencing transgenic DNA]Our recent work on gain of function mutants in phospholamban has led us to begin to explore the question of whether such mutants can cause cardiomyopathies. This question and questions regarding the role of calsequestrin in cardiac function will be explored in transgenic and knockout animals which are being developed.
