
Orientation Week
The Innis College Student Society (ICSS) organizes a social Orientation (Frosh) Week that leads up to the first day of classes. Members of the ICSS will be attending the two Saturday Summer Academic Orientation Sessions to provide information about the Society in general and about its Orientation Week activities.You will receive more information about the Orientation Week closer to the date.
The Innis College Registrar’s Office sponsors events during Orientation Week as well:
New Student Day
On Tuesday 3 September the Registrar's Office will host New Student Day for all students starting at Innis this year. The morning's events will be held in Innis Town Hall (on the first floor of Innis College, located at 2 Sussex Avenue). The schedule includes a welcome address by the principal; an introduction to the faculty, staff, and services at Innis; and the distribution of important registrarial information.
International Students' Orientation
On Saturday 7 September, the Registrar’s Office and Student Life will host an event tailored to the particular needs of international students, including those who are unable to attend the Summer Academic Orientation Sessions. The day will include a workshop with a mini academic orientation and a presentation by a representative from the Centre for International Experience (CIE). You'll get advice on obtaining health cards, work visa applications, living in a new country, the resources of the CIE, and other subjects relevant to international students. The CIE representative will also be able to answer individual questions. To RSVP for this event, email studentlife.innis@utoronto.ca with your name and student number.
On Monday 9 September, the first day of classes, it's time to get down to business. Good luck with your first year at the University of Toronto and remember that there are lots of resources at Innis and across the University to help you through your first year and beyond.
