Summer Academic Orientation Sessions

The Registrar’s Office will hold Academic Orientation Sessions for all new students on Saturday 22 June and Saturday 6 July 2013. Topics we will cover include how to use the Calendar, Registration Instructions, and Course Timetable to choose and enrol in your courses, course selection for students in all admission categories, finances and the different ways you can fund your education, and how to use the library system at the University of Toronto.

On both of these dates, there will also be upper-year Innis student mentors on hand to answer any and all of your questions, so don't be shy to approach them -- they are there to help you! We will also host a session on Student Life in the afternoon, where you will learn how to get involved in the Innis and wider University communities.

For those of you who are unable to attend one of our two Academic Orientation Sessions, we are offering an abbreviated evening session on Wednesday 10 July 2013.

We have put up a PDF summary of the information we covered at last year's 2012 Summer Academic Orientation Sessions and have also posted videos of the sessions. This information will be updated in summer 2013.

We invite you to contact the Registrar’s Office to schedule an individual appointment with an academic advisor if you are unable to attend an Academic Orientation Session. If you are transferring to Innis from another post-secondary institution, you may wish to discuss on an individual basis your program selections and the conditions of receiving transfer credit.
