Membership

Because of the programs’ popularity, there is a waiting list to become a member. If you are already on the Wait List, you will be notified when an available space in one of the series opens up. If you are unable to accept at that time, you will remain on the waiting list.

There is no cost to become a member. However, each 10-week lecture series costs $50.

As members leave LLL or if any lecture series is under-subscribed, new members are added from the waiting list according to the date they registered. Each lecture series accepts about 270 members.

Enrolment

Applications for the lecture series are emailed/mailed in April and October for the fall and winter terms. Our objective is to provide each member an equal opportunity to enroll. Therefore, we ask that applications be returned by the specified date with a $50 cheque made payable to Later Life Learning. Each member must submit their own cheque and enrolment form.

There are no refunds.

After the specified date, all enrolment forms are opened and processed in no particular order.

Due to issues with Canada Post delivery, it has been determed that this is the fairest method of registering members.

It is very important to indicate your second and third choices though you may attend only one series. Your first course choice may be full before your application is processed. However, if you are not prepared to accept a second or third choice, leave them blank. In that case if your first choice is full when your enrolment form is selected you will be placed on the waiting list for your first choice course.

If you are away from home at registration time, please make sure you have your mail forwarded so that you will receive the application.

 

Rules

• Members are not allowed to bring guests to lectures, send substitutes or bequeath their membership.
• There is no guarantee that we will be able to comply with requests for registration with a friend/partner/ spouse but we will do our best dependant on availability.
• A member’s name will be removed from membership if she/he has not been registered to attend at least one of the past three series.
• Should any member enrolled in a series miss more than three lectures in that series, it will be considered incomplete.  An individual will be removed from the membership list if they have three consecutive incomplete or not attended series.
• For the above reason, please do not register for a series if you know you are going to be away for more than three weeks.
• There are no refunds.
• Members must register at the check-in prior to the start of all lectures.
