How to Find Books
The subject headings below were obtained from the Library of Congress Subject Headings (LCSH) available at/near the reference desk of every Library. LC Subject Headings are drawn from a "controlled vocabulary" chosen to describe the content of materials with consistent terminology. The correct LC Subject Heading for the more commonly used terms like "film" or "movies" or "cinema" is motion pictures. Material on any of the course-related topics listed below can be found by entering the appropriate LC Subject Heading in the University of Toronto Catalogue (UTCat), then choosing the subject search option.
