Application Calendar
September | October-November | December-January | February-March | April-June
February
If you wish to be eligible for early admission consideration, you should submit all information to OUAC and make any changes you wish to make (including additional university or program choices) by 5 February 2013. You are allowed to submit changes after this date, but you will no longer be eligible for early admission consideration.
Your high school will send to OUAC any final first-semester grades and current full-year midterm grades by 14 February 2013.
March
The final deadline to apply to the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto for full-time studies is 1 March 2013. Other divisions at the University may have different final deadlines.
If you are an Ontario secondary school student, you can make changes to your college choice on OUAC until 22 February 2013.
Most Ontario high school students will have applied to Ontario universities by the OUAC deadline of 16 January 2013. If you are applying now and trying to figure out how to fill out the application form, the December-January entry in the Application Calendar lists some helpful information.
Although you selected an admission category for the Faculty of Arts and Science when you applied through OUAC, and although you may have some ideas about the types of courses in which you would like to enrol when you start in September, you may not yet know in what program you would actually like to get your degree. For example, you may love biology, but you may not know whether you should choose Biology, Biochemistry, or Human Biology.
The Faculty of Arts and Science runs a March Break Open House to help with precisely these decisions. If you are able to, visit the University during March Break and talk to representatives from all of the Faculty's programs. You can ask them questions, find out what courses you should take in first year, and even learn what the difference is between programs (Biology and Human Biology, for example). Be sure to come by the Innis College booth and also to learn about the innovative, interdisciplinary programs that Innis sponsors: Cinema Studies, Urban Studies, and Writing & Rhetoric.
March Break is a good opportunity to tour colleges and residences, since most will offer extra tours that week. Even if you cannot make it for a visit during March Break, you can still come to see us. The Innis Residence offers tours every Thursday and Friday from 10 January to 5 April 2013. Tours depart the Innis Residence Lobby at 12:15 and 1:00 p.m. There's no need to sign up, just drop by the Innis Residence, 111 St. George Street, for a tour of one of the apartment-style suites as well as all the common areas of the residence and college.
Now is the time to start thinking about scholarships and your finances for university. Although you will automatically be considered for most academic scholarships, there are some University of Toronto scholarships that require a separate application.
Innis College has two Admissions Awards that require an application and the deadline is 5 April 2013. If you have made a contribution to your school or community, provide the details in your application for the Innis College Kitchen Sink Award or the John W. Browne Admission Award.
