In addition to serving as Principal of Innis College, Professor Paterson teaches the following graduate courses in the Department of French:

• FRE 2078H—Altérité : formes et significations
• FRE 2080H—Le sujet en mouvement : migrant et transnational

Professor Paterson’s research interests reside in Quebec literature, postmodernism, alterity, transnationalism and immigrant literature. She is the author of several books including Postmodernism in the Quebec Novel (1994) and Figures de l’Autre dans le roman québécois (2004). A member of a large SSHRC research team, she is currently working on a critical edition of Anne Hébert`s Le Premier jardin.

A graduate of University of Toronto, Professor Paterson has held several administrative positions within the University. She is a member of the Royal Society of Canada.
