Student Luncheon with Inspirational Innisian Larry Wasser

A group of past recipients of the Wasser Achievement Awards and the Wasser Leadership Scholarships returned to campus to enjoy an intimate lunch with Mr. Larry Wasser, Innis alumnus (HBA 1978) and donor. Recipients listened attentively as Mr. Wasser spoke of his experiences at Innis College and U of T, as well as in the years following.

A true example of an entrepreneur, Wasser has been involved in numerous ventures and businesses that have generated hundreds of millions of dollars in annual sales. Wasser is currently the President of L.W. Capital Corporation, a private investment firm which offers strategic, advisory and consulting services.

Despite his busy schedule, Wasser commits much of his time to advising aspiring entrepreneurs at U of T’s Rotman School of Management, serving as a volunteer on numerous non-profit boards, and playing a critical role in the success of Innis College as an alumnus, donor, and advisor.

Wasser and his wife Marla have truly enhanced the student experience at Innis College. In 1998,the Wassers established the Larry and Marla Wasser Student Services Centre which has benefited thousands of students who have used the Centre’s services and resources. The Wassers also established the Wasser Leadership Fund in support of two scholarship programs, the Wasser Achievement Awards, and the Wasser Leadership Scholarships. Today, hundreds of students have been recognized and rewarded for their leadership and incredible service to their communities through the Wasser Leadership Fund.

Wasser’s generosity and commitment to his community reminded lunch guests of the importance of true leadership and kindness, and left them with the inspiration needed to make a difference in the world.
