Ira Levy, Executive Producer and Partner, Breakthrough Films

Since creating Breakthrough over 27 years ago, Ira Levy (BA 1975 VIC)and his partner Peter Williamson have built a creative partnership and established themselves as one of Canada’s most prolific providers of television programs. As Executive Producer, Levy works with broadcasters, producers and directors to oversee the creative management of projects in all genres, from development through to delivery. Over the years, Levy has developed successful relationships with national and international networks and production partners on a variety of documentary, lifestyle, drama, factual, and animated programs. In 1995, Levy became a member of the Canadian Media Production Association and was elected chair of the board in 2005. He continues to be actively involved in the CMPA’s committees alongside his involvement with the Canadian Television Fund, The Banff World Television Board and the Alliance for Children and Television.
