About the Help Desk
We provide telephone and walk-in support to students, faculty and staff for the services and software listed below.
If you have a problem that is unresolvable over the phone, you may make a one-hour appointment to bring in your computer. Call 978-HELP for an appointment.
Certain conditions apply when we accept your computer for troubleshooting. You will be asked to sign off on those before we begin.
Installing and configuring email applications (to use UTORmail) and web browsers. For more information see Email and Web Browser Help.
Changing your UTORid password if you have forgotten it (photo ID requirede.g., TCard or Library card).
Connecting to the Internet via the University's wireless network, including how to configure your laptop.
Installing and configuring free AntiVirus software. Full details are available at antivirus.utoronto.ca.
Connecting to My.UToronto (the institutional portal service of the University of Toronto providing community "bulletin board" access to information links, announcements, news and events across campus), and Webmail. Visit the My.UToronto page for more information.
Using the 50 MB of free web space to store personal web pages, pictures, word-processing documents, etc. Visit the UTORweb page for more information.
UTORexchange is the integrated calendar and email system available for UofT faculty and staff. Read more about UTORexchange.
Limited support using programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, and Adobe Reader.
