PROGRAMS

Highlights

Since its inception the HRIC's primary mandate has been to initiate, co-ordinate and support research and publications as well as to promote Hungarian achievement and cultural products outside the Hungarian Community.

Current Projects

The HRIC's highly regarded series of conferences, seminars, and lectures continue to form the basis of its research and publication programs, leading to an expansion of opportunities in academic and commercial interactions between Canada and Central Europe.

New Initiatives

The expansion of existing programs and the establishment of new projects are also on the HRIC agenda. In these endeavours the Institute is counting on the support of the Hungarian community in Canada and throughout the world on an ongoing basis. "While we are interested in every possible academic area, we have to balance our financial resources among some very important projects," says Dr. L. J. Simon, the Institute's Chairman. Priorities are set based on financial considerations and the significance of the project.

Fundraising

With a clear focus on expansion and building partnerships, the HRIC seeks secure operating funding of some $75,000 per annum, which requires the build-up of an endowment of $1.5 million, to ensure the inflation protected maintenance of this activity. For more details visit Millennium and Beyond.
