3. Grants-in-aid for Publication
A key function of the HRIC is to support publication of Hungarian and
Central European studies. A secure grants-in-aid for publication program
is necessary to ensure the continuation of the program which has produced
major academic publications in co-operation with several institutions
worldwide including the most recent: a major review of Hungary’s
political transition based on the findings of the 1996 international
symposium presented by the HRIC and held at the University of Toronto.
Edited by Aurel Braun, it is seen by experts as the most important
reference in its field. Other publications include the History of
Transylvania, the recently completed history of Rusyns, and translations
of works on Hungarian statesmen and medieval legal codexes.
Goal: $50,000
