Our Spring dive trip this year will be taking people down to Little Cayman, in the Cayman Islands, where we'll be staying at the Little Cayman Beach Resort. The island itself - just 10 miles long, and 1 mile wide - is blessed with 22 miles of spectacular coastline, and just offshore, incredible coral reefs teeming with over 150 kinds of coral and more than 500 species of fish. Bloody Bay Wall, one of the most pristine underwater sites in the world, is part of a unique ocean reef system surrounding Little Cayman. See our trip brochure for more info! 2011/2012 Membership Renewal
Don't forget to renew!
It's time again to renew your Hart House Underwater Club memberships for the coming year. We have a great set of summer dives and courses planned, and hope you will be able to join us on club activities throughout the season! Our 2011/2012 membership renewal form is now on-line (you can download it here), and the hard-working folks at Hart House Membership Services are ready to process renewals. All new and returning HHUC members will need to complete the form and waiver and return it to the Hart House Hub, along with your payment. Please note that you will need to ensure that your Hart House membership is up to date. If you are a Fall 2010 or Winter 2011 Scuba Diver student, you are eligible for a free HHUC membership for this year as soon as you have completed your certification, provided that you are a member of Hart House. Although the HHUC membership fees will be waived, we will still need you to submit your completed form and waiver to the Hub. If you are planning to certify with us in Tobermory, we'll have the forms there for you to fill out. If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to contact the Hub at (416) 978-2452 or by e-mail. Looking forward to a great diving season! Summer 2011 Dive Schedule Now Posted
Begins June 26th!
Kirkfield, Tobermory, Picton, Lake Erie, Brockville, Kingston and Toronto!
A lot of great feedback was received from last year's dive season, and a lot of
fabulous suggestions were made for new locations and new operators. Bob Belcher has
been busy reviewing them all, contacting operators, and filling our calendar with
what promises to be another great dive season! We will also be expanding the list
shortly to include a number of local shore diving opportunities. We will soon be announcing the details of how to sign-up for the dives... but, in the meantime, you can start marking off some summer dates and dusting off your fins. (And, if you haven't already done so, now is a great time to send in your equipment for its annual servicing!) See the full schedule here! NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver Course
2011 Summer Season
HHUC will be running a NAUI Advanced Scuba Diver course this summer, as part of our regular summer dive season. This course is intended for divers who have already completed initial Scuba Diver certification, and will provide additional skills training in self-rescue, buddy-rescue, buoyancy and navigation. Additionally, we will explore diving in different environments, including managing the challenges associated with deep diving, night diving, cold water diving and current diving. Please see the course overview for information on prerequisites, costs and how to register! |
