I. Two Essays, one each term. Worth 20% of final grade. Due dates: November 2, 1999 & March 15, 2000.

Papers should draw from course materials.
Specific reference to films screened on the course is mandatory.
Aim for concise prose.
Provide proper documentation using a consistent style: MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, Canadian Writer's Handbook.
Papers typed and double spaced please.
Do not exceed 10 pages.
No extensions. Two marks per day will be deducted for lateness.


II. Two in-class tests, end of each term. Worth 25% each. Dates: Tuesday, December 7, 1999 & Tuesday, April 4, 2000.


III. Participation. Worth 10%.

Attendance will be taken at tutorials. Students will be expected to have read the assigned materials, and will be called upon in class.
