You're invited, on February 21, to join some of the brightest scientists and scholars from across the University of Toronto at “Moving Canada Towards Sustainability”, a day-long forum to discuss global environmental issues. The forum will include presentations on the latest science, research findings and issues related to global climate change, energy challenges, and environment and health.
Former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore will give a public lecture at the University of Toronto on the evening of February 21 addressing the threat of global climate change. Gore’s visit will come at the end of a day where the most significant environmental challenges facing Canada and the world will be the focus of discussion at the University.
The interdisciplinary study of the environment is recognized as central to the task of building a sustainable world. In many ways, it will be the complex inter-connections amongst social, cultural, economic, technological, regulatory and ecological initiatives that will be the key to improving human and environmental health.
Across the University of Toronto, researchers and students are engaged in the scientific questions and policy issues surrounding the stewardship of the environment. Use the links below to explore the wide range of environmental research, teaching and advocacy work in progress at U of T.
