Interlibrary loanMost interlibrary loan requests can be handled by users through the University of Toronto’s online interlibrary loan system—RACER. If you need assistance using this system, please don’t hesitate to ask the Dentistry Library staff. You can also look at this brief video demo of how to use RACER provided by the Gerstein Science Information Centre (Approximately 3 minutes). Please visit the UTL interlibrary loans page for more information and policies. The Dentistry Library provides the following interlibrary loans services: 1) Articles NOT held by any U of T library
2) Books NOT held by any U of T Library 3) Materials held by another U of T library Materials held at another U of T library should be picked up in person. These are some exceptions:
While searching the Ovid database, U of T card holders can order photocopies of journal articles in their results that are not available in full-text. Simply click the "ORDER" button in the bottom right-hand corner of your search results page. Photocopied articles ordered this way can be sent to your office by Gerstein staff, via campus mail or fax. If you need help using this service, please ask Dentistry Library staff for assistance. For fees please ask at the desk. You can order items held by the UTSC Library (Scarborough campus) or the UTM Library (Mississauga campus), but only if the items in question are not owned by a library on the St. George campus. To order such materials, click "Request item" after finding the item in the online catalogue. Please note that you can only pick them up at Robarts Library or the Gerstein Science Information Centre (it is not possible to have the item sent to the Dentistry Library). NOTE Members of the Canadian Dental Association can take advantage of the extensive, reasonably priced services of the CDA Resource Centre (members can order journal articles to be mailed or faxed to them, borrow books and videos, ask for literature searches, and request interlibrary loans). The CDA Resource Centre's phone number is 1-800-267-6354, ext. 2223.
