Clinical Research

Restorative Dentistry has a team of dedicated and experienced full time professorial academic staff involved in both education and research. All have significant clinical expertise in Operative/Restorative dentistry and most have graduate degrees in the Biomaterials field.

Recent research and scholarly activity has included studies on efficacy and effects of tooth bleaching as well as clinically relevant properties of new proprietary restorative materials such as anterior composites, flowable composites and luting cements. Members of the department have also published studies on the performance of adhesive materials, aesthetic posts, caries diagnostic technology and LED photopolymerisation. A major current project is inter-disciplinary research (Biomaterials and Restorative) studying the in-vivo degradation of composites.
