Vasyl Kuchabsky Western Ukraine in Conflict with Poland and Bolshevism, 1918–1923
Vasyl Kuchabsky’s book is the most comprehensive account of the political, military, and diplomatic aspects of the Western Ukrainian struggle for independence after the First World War. The central issues in his study are Ukrainian-Polish relations and the Ukrainian-Polish War of 1918–19. Kuchabsky also examines state-building in the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic and, to some extent, in the Ukrainian People’s Republic, within the broader context of European politics.

Ukrainian Drama and Theater in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries

This rich body of serious dramas and comic intermedia was remarkable for the original ways it elaborated on and transformed the models of the European Renaissance and Baroque theater. Lewin’s book is the first English-language general history of that subject.

This book is a collection of articles written by prominent historians from Ukraine, Poland, North America, and Russia devoted to the
pivotal event in the history of Cossack Ukraine: the Union of Hadiach of 1658. The Union of Hadiach was a direct alternative to the
