DR=HUM; BR=1 (1) Creative and Cultural Representations

Course Description:

Motion pictures and the sciences of child development both arrived on the scene at about the same time. This course considers a number of historical relationships between movies and childhood, asking how imagined relationships between movies (and television, and the web) and children have shaped our understanding of culture, especially popular culture, and the media which refract them.
