The Banting Research Foundation was established in 1925 to fund medical research.
Today, it continues to provide medical research grants to new investigators at Canadian universities and research institutes. Eligible researchers are in their first three years of academic appointment, and hold less than our threshold levels in start-up and operating funds. Details on our grant competition are here.
The Banting Research Foundation congratulates the 2013 recipients of our medical research grants:
Craig Bailey, University of Guelph
David Chatenet, Centre INRS – Institut Armand-Frappier
Margaret K Hahn, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
Pierre-Yves Lozach, Centre INRS – Institut Armand-Frappier
Dave Richard, Université Laval
Marie-Ève Tremblay, Université Laval
We received 44 applications and were able to fund six outstanding projects. More information about their projects may be found here.
