The Banting Research Foundation awards research grants to the Banting and Best Department of Medical Research and to outstanding young Canadian investigators to pursue novel approaches to the understanding and treatment of human disease.

From its endowment fund and joint initiatives with partner organizations, the Foundation is able to fund approximately one in eight of the applications received from new investigators during its annual competition.

New donations from individual and corporate sponsors go directly to funding additional medical research grants.
