Renegotiating Boundaries: Agency, Access, and Identity in Post-Suharto Indonesia (Theme 3: State of Authority)

Gender, Governance and Globalization (2004-2008)
An inter-university and international research group composed of Fullbright New Century Scholars focusing on the gender politics of neoliberal political and economic restructuring. Involves workshops and publications.

Workshops and publications focusing on the ethics and practices of cross-border research and knowledge production. Faculty involved: Rachel Silvey

Building Urban Communities: The Politics of Civic Space in Asia
co-edited by Amrita Daniere and Mike Douglass at the University of Hawai'i
Focuses on the relationship between "civic space" (actual physical places where people can meet and talk and plan and organize), politics and urban development.
